Wear ring installation on a 2007 rxt seadoo

I am having problems installing a new (blue) wear ring. I used the freezer trick to remove the old (white) one. Should you be using some type of lube to aid in installation?

Did you put the new wear ring in the freezer too? That's what I did, then I was able to start it evenly then put a 2x4 across it and tapped it in with a rubber mallet, rotating the 2x4 with each tap.
