Wear ring f-up

OK, I bought a new OEM wear ring from seadoo, put it in the freezer, I've done a few before so no worries.
Slid straight in as expected, and that's when I realised I f'ed up. I put it in backwards!!!!!
So, my question is.. Am I the only idiot to do this?
Should I just run it and see how it goes?

Check out the new delrin ones. they are the same material all the way through. when you snag something it doesn't blow out the black 'cover' like the oem ones do. you get slightly degraded performance, but it won't ruin your day on the water.
