wear ring...does it have to be OEM?

I need to replace the wear ring on my '98 GTS. From the local dealer it is $70, I can get something called a NEW WSM WEAR RING FOR SEA-DOO 140MM which is supposedly the same as an OEM for about $30.

Well im replacing the wear ring in my 95 seadoo xp and gonna use a wsm "oe" style ring....I will let you know how it goes...i will get it tomm and install it tomm...

i would like to know about this as well. i'm going to replace the neoprene seal and wear ring this winter and the best i've found for an oem ring is 50.00 + shipping.

my buddy gets me them for like $28 w/next day shipping... but i don't know where from... they sure look OEM and are in plastic bags... seem to work fine...

I have replaced my xp, gsx, and gtx with an aftermarket one from shopsbt.com. so far so good on all 3! Priced really well, around $40

After market rings are "hit-N-miss." If you get a good one... great. BUT... in the past, I've seen them not fit very well.

All I can say is.. if you buy one... and there is any fitment issues... don't use it.

I like OE rings. They fit perfect, and you can find them as low as $35 if you look around.
