Wear ring change

Just realised my wear ring is stuffed.

Can the impellor be removed without the special tool ? If so how ?

Last time i tried to remove the impellor from the jet unit i had no chance.

I've seen stainless wear rings avaialble which claim to have tighter clearances and last longer. They obviously more money than the plastic ones but are they worth it ?

You need the tool to get the impeller off. Also, I don't recommend a stainless ring unless you are racing.

To add to the last post; getting something caught in the jet pump, plastic versus stainless; plastic has give, and stainless dosn't! So if you have stainless it won't be the ring letting go it'll be your motor!
