So I just rebuilt the carbs and changed out my fuel lines. Went to the river to try it out but it wont stay idling. It revs up fine in the water and I have power it just is hard to get started and it wont stay running without the throttle. Could it be that my low speed screw is off or could it be something else? I dont want to take it to a shop but I am getting tired of this thing. lol. Please help!!

Is it idling on the trailer but not in the water? What RPMs is it at idling on trailer?

It should idle at 1500 in water and around 3000 on trailer. Could be low speed screw or idle screw.

Low speed screws should be 1 3/4 turns out.

It wont idle in the water. When its on the trailer and I turn it on it sounds like it revs up. I dont know what the rpms are because my gauge is not working and never has been. I dont remember it revving up like that before.

Now it wont idle at all. Could it be that the pop off pressure is off? Im taking it to the shop tomorrow for my new fuel tank so I might see if they will test the pop off for me. And it is smoking horribly when it is running and my spark plugs are dripping in fuel. I need major help...... My wife is getting sick of this thing.

It could be anything. Sorry.

When you have carb issues... you got to take them back off, and go over everything.

I took it back apart and everything looked good. I think that the gas has sat too long since its been broken down for a month now and I think the oil and gas separated. It was smoking way more than normal and it took a while for it to clear up and so since I just got my new tank installed I'm going to put in fresh oil and gas and see if that helps anything.
