lol, this is the ski that you put a wear ring in, right ??? now, without putting c clip in, can u grab the driveshaft and move it in toward the pto and out toward the pump ??? if you can move it back and forth, and my guess is since its leaking at carbone seal, is that the rubber driveshaft bumper in front is missing, and actually the drive shaft is forward right now, and the other groove your looking for is covered up with the pto boot, cause its slid inside the pto too far right now .....
cause here is a pic of your driveshaft -- bet the groove your lookin for is under that rear clamp on your pto boot

cut rear clamp off the pto boot, and see if that groove is right there under it, if so, you know where the 3rd groove is
you need the bumper to keep driveshaft out to seal the carbone seal, that would be like 1/4 inch of (not bieng tightness) lol, new grammer
