water intake on/of valve

i was going to install on/off valve on the water intake do i need to put one on both sides to keep water from flooding engine while in tow

You would only have to put it on the one hose (the intake hose...there is only one of them)

I personally would not do what you are doing, but, it is your ski not mine.
