I have a 99 gti. Is it ok to have the footwells full of frozen water in winter storage ? Why or why not ?

If it's not ok, how do I fix this ? Maybe lift the front, or put some antifreeze in the footwells ?

Uh if you get water in the foot wells it could freeze and cause fiberglass problems. I would cover the seadoo and put some foam under the cover here so no water will puddle in that area.

Ditto....its all common sense, like in winterizing, to pinch oil lines, oil in spark holes
seat uncovered so hull can breath, cover ski, stabilizer in fuel & carbs, nose up like you questioned, ect. Its a Luxury Toy!

it would make sense that freezing water in the footwells could cause fiberglass damage but I've never seen it actually happen. I usually have several(as many as 20) old part out skis that sit outside through the winter and am expecting to see fiberglass damage one of these years but never have. I can only assume that when it freezes, it expands and pops up a little due to the draft on the walls of the footwell relieving the pressure created by the freezing water. The freezing water really isn't trapped like in passages of a motor, I guess?

Ya as stated above just prop up the front with a jack stand or some cinder blocks and keep it covered easy fix
