Water in exhaust pipe worry

Ok, I started some maintenace on the boat today & noticed water dripping out of one of the exhaust pipes...its been awhile since I have flushed it or had it on the water, but I recently moved it...so needless to say i got concerned real fast.
I immeadately pulled the plugs & checked them for white residue..they were clean... but I had started it up a couple days ago. So I spun the engines over (no plugs) and nothing was coming out. I put the plugs back in & fired it up and let it run some and it sounded normal...when I looked at the rear of the boat a lil more water had come out.
When I flushed it after the last time I was out, I made sure to blow it out after I was done..even waited awhile & dry started it again to make sure. I'm concerned water may have found its way into the engine. So is this common or do I have a situation here?

Your exhaust is "wet." The cooling water goes into the exhaust. SO... there is allays water trapped in it.

Yeah thats what I started thinking last night after I posted this...guess I was overly concerned about it being a problem. Guess its better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for the tip Doc! always appreciated!

dont mean to steel your thread, but how does that work in the winter when the water freezes in there?

Before winter you must blow all water that you can out of the engine and exhaust. As long as the amount of water left in is not enough to freeze solid and expand a cylinder wall or such then you are alright.

When bought my ski in Sep't 2006, After a couple short runs on the lake, I blew all the water out but the previous owner had sucked up sand in the water passages and it froze solid and cracked one of them. They were all cleaned out. I don't have the problem anymore, you must be VERY careful in shallow water and NOT run the engine...just coast into the shore/dock.

No I live in Bellevue, wich is north of Battle Creek. I just bought my speedster boat 2 months ago and it needs alot of work. My plan is to have everthing fixed and replaced and ready to go by next season. I have to redo the interior, going to aftermarket MPEM, change over all grey fuel lines, installing a sterio system and hydo's, carb rebuilds. The guy I bought the boat from just winterized the boat and left it sit for the last 2 years.

Thats bad advice. There will always be water left in there. Do not think just blowing it out is safe. You need to add antifreeze to the system to make sure it doesnt freeze.

sorry for the newbie ? but how do you add antifreeze to the system. My boat was winterized by a dealer 2 years ago when it was put away, so Im sure its in there. I hope.

procedure is outlined in the manual. you can download a manual from the seadoo site.
