95 XP VTS trim gauge is testing bad and VTS is blowing fuse at full up position... Looking into getting this fixed sometime soon... It's the only thing wrong with the ski (now) and I like my trim :P

1. Anyone using "The Trim Fix" [http://www.thetrimfix.com/]??? Does it work well??? I tried to search the forum, but couldn't find any references to it... I May think twice about tackling this if I have to buy new housing

2. Do you guys use a special tool to remove gauges? Or just by hand? I couldn't get my fat hands up in there good enough on initial inspection. Is there a trick to it? LOL

3. Anyone had had success repairing a VTS gauge?

4. Can the gauge's clear cover be replaced? i.e. if I know of a working gauge with damaged clear cover, can I swap it with the cover from my old one? This should be possible, but haven't had one out to know for sure...

Thanks in advance,
Dave

The gauges are a biatch to get to...push in on the front while trying to turn the "nut" I had one where someone glued them and I had to completely take apart the hood to get them out. Not an easy feat on the ones that are deep in the holes. The million dollar trick is to take a nut driver and extension and make it super thin on a grinder so it will actually fit in the hole.

I have never tried to take apart the gauge, but its just that metal ring holding it together...I dont think you can just order the cover though and good luck getting it to seal.

I have good OEM VTS housings available, as well as VTS motors...PM if interested.

I have a nut driver that works just fine. When I tried to take apart the hood, it apeared that there were about 3 rivets behind the mirrors. Will these have to come out? I didn't push, pull or tug on things too much, just trying to get an idea of how much trouble it is...

Thanks
