Voltage regulator

I have a 2019 gti se 130 thats showing high battery voltage. The first thing the dealership could come up with is the voltage regulator which seems correct. My question is if I replace that myself am I still going to have to take it to a dealer to clear the code so limp home mode and that awefull alarm sound.

Nope, as soon as it's corrected it the code will go from active to occurred and it will not be in limp mode.

Had the EXACT thing happen to mine, replaced with an after market Regulator. It lasted 2 hours and melted.
Don't waste time or money and buy the OEM regulator.
Easy to replace.
