I wouldn't run a jet ski without water for more than 15-20 seconds. Also, that looks like fogging oil *as stated above*.

I've started it two or three times since the P.O. winterized it and only ran for 15 -20 seconds. It idles good and has great compression. But compared to my RX, this thing is nuts for smoke!

Running the jet ski "two or three times" will not completely get the fogging oil out. Using it on the lake for about 15-30 minutes would be key for getting all of the fogging oil out.

Go blast out on lake. You really have to use these skis and get em warm. They spend most of their life off and in storage.

Cool, thanks guys. We've had crappy weather here the last couple of weeks...but hopefully soon it will be to where I can take them out.

I had a Chevy Vega that smoked like that all the time. My friends loved it when we'd go camping, I drive a circle around the campsite a couple of times, and no more bugs. lol

Yea, mine smoked like that this past weekend, from the fogging oil. I let it run for about 10 minutes on the boat launch and it's still smoking, but better. As stated above, the only way to get it completely out is to blast around the lake.
