used boat cautions

I am looking to purchase 03, or 04 seadoo sportster. I notice in want ad's a lot of new motors or rebuilt motors. Is there a problem with these boats shucking motors?
Are these good boats to purchase used?

Rotax makes very good engines. BUT... you are looking to buy a 8 or 9 year old 4-stroke boat. Depending on how many hours are on it... expect to be doing a rebuild.

With that said... there are a bunch of boats out there that hardly get used, and there are a bunch of boats the get abused.

If you find a low hour, clean boat... you should be fine.
