Hello everybody. I am looking for some advice on buying a four tec. I am wondering if there are certain years, engine groups, and an amount of hours to beware of. My folks have an '04 with maybe 40 hours, the way it's been babied that would be a find. Have seen some 2010-2014's with 200+ hours. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

"Babied" engines normally don't get the proper recommend maintenance

If you found an '04 wake that's been used to pull two tubes and hardly sees over 40 mph with 480 hours would the hours stop you from buying it?

How about an '08 GTI 130 with 100 hours that's mostly kept on a dry dock, covered, gently ran, on a small lake in Wisconsin? It looks good and has been maintained well according to the records.

Do either of these machines have model related issues I should look for?

Suppose babied means a lot of different things to different people. To further define, my folks' has been meticulously cared for, maintained, and carefully ran. Being in their 70's, hopefully they get to enjoy it for quite a few more years. Thanks for your help.
