Hello! This is my first post so it may not be very good. I was wondering what I could do to my Seadoo XP (I don't know the year.) to maybe make it look better and just overall help it. Also if anyone could get me an online 3D model of a grate and impeller. Thanks.

The Mr Clean magic sponges used with water work great on stuff. You can get repair manuals for free off the Internet. Should be a plate with year and serial number on it at back of ski. Ask questions away. We try to help you not kill it first time out. Run right oil and gas. Use OEM spark plugs.

Ok Thanks. The cosmetic problem is that the foot pads in the trench on the side of the jet ski (I don't know what they are called either) are just ugly and moldy. I will probably just get new foot pads.

yes the mat's tend to turn into Bacon, get nasty and curl up around the rivets, also they get real slippery when wet.

order a new set of Turf, drill out the old rivets, take off the pads, clean it up and install new pads.

Pick your color! I'm a cut Groove Black kind of guy but there are lots of options.

actually a pretty easy job on the 96 model because the rivets come out without much hassle, easier than removing glued on ones which takes 3x as long.

Ok Thanks, I will try that. The spark plugs currently in it are pretty old. I don't know what type they are because I'll be out looking at it this weekend. Should I change spark plugs to OEM or should I just keep the ones in it. I checked the plugs and one is corroded on the tip touching the contact and the tip and the other is just black. I haven't started it in about a year and I don't think the two stroke in it will be good... Any suggestions?

Ok Thanks! I will do that probably 2 weekends from this one because I have to buy and get them shipped... But hopefully it looks better once I finish restoring it!

NGK BR8ES plugs solid tip, $3.50 at the auto parts store, most definitely drain the gas tank completely then do some research re: Grey Tempo Lines, you might have a little more work to do to make sure the ski is mechanically sound.

yes, its pretty easy get out as much as you can, use a simple siphon.
and you don't have the 96 if its teal and white. my bad.

94 maybe? check last 2 #'s on the VIN.

There was never a teal and white XP. The lime green XP was 93-94. Teal and white could be a 96' SPX. The last two digits of the VIN number is the year.

Would be a good idea to drain out old oil. Do a pressure check on tank first. The two piece tank develop air leaks at the seam. Instructions to fix are on the site. Then put in the correct oil. Use the search function at the top right corner of this page. To find issues already addressed here. Replacing gas lines is one of the issues addressed over and over here. You can search it and read about the procedures. Use 100% stainless line clamps on fuel lines. You can get them at NAPA. You have to order them. If you have a pop off tester you can test all the through the hull vents. Procedure is in the repair manual. They need replaced after so many years. They help to keep the systems pressure up to feed carbs and flow fuel better.

Well I got this Jetski from a friend, his wife's brother gave it to him and I got it from him. Now his wife's brother wants it back... Any idea how I can keep it? I have gotten really attached to it... :( Wish me luck
If I do keep it I will stay on the forums if I don't... Well :/ I might attempt to buy another sea doo...

Do you have the title? If not it isn't yours to keep.
If you do keep searching I suggest a ski with the 787 engine. Much faster but still very reliable.

My friend has the title... His wife's brother wants it back after we made it run AND payed him for it. If I do get another jet ski IT MUST BE SEA DOO I want something with a rotax engine and over 60 mph. Also I really like 2 strokes.

Ok...So we keep it but piston 1 gets over 90 psi and number 2 gets 50... It also turns over extremely slowly. The head and piston on piston number 2 is dented and gashed... Any ideas to fix?

Top end rebuild. It also depends on how many hours on bottom end. Parts are around $350 or more depending on engine. Need skill to do it.
