Tubing Off: Wake Tower? Popup Ski Pylon? Other?

OK, just had the wake tower repaired in my new 2003 Sportster -- liked the boat and knew it was fixable - didn't fit the recall unfortunately for towers and didn't want to wait to have it looked at even if it did.

Talking to the guy fixing it who does a lot of wake tower repairs on the side , and he was saying that it is best to use the popup ski pylon than the wake for tubing. Too much force on the tower from the tube drag. He's seen some really stressed towers from tubing.

So, what is the opinion out there Seadoo owners?
Ski Pylon best for tubing? Sounds like you take splashes from the rope and the rope sits in the water all the time.
Wake fine for tubing? Like that the rope is out of the way more, but not so keen on the stress after one crack already.
Anywhere else you can attach the tube rope?

shamski.

I myself never pull a tube off the tower, way to much drag and stress on not only the welds bout your mounting points in the boat... I wouldnt want stress fractures.
I use the tow ring in the back of the boat.
As for the rope splashing you Length the rope 10-20 feet and or get this http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=14181&pdesc=SportsStuff_Booster_Ball&cname=Towable-Ropes&aID=600G6&merchID=1009&r=view
Used of course if you can and have a great time not worrying about your $1200+ waketower failing or cracking your mounts...
Just my opinion

I remember when I got my 150 last year I was told only tubing from the pylon NOT the tower. I was told only the tower for wake boarding. So I would say go off the Pylon.

Thanks for the inputs.
The pylon worries me based on stories I have read about it bending under the strain. That said i did use it last time we were out. Took a little more to get the front end of the tube up and on plane (its a U tube) than from the tower, but once there it was fine. It will be even better with the new wear ring and refurbed impeller going back in the boat. :)

The other option is the reartow hooks (2) and I picked up an air head pully system to hook the tube. Only concern is that it now adds another 6-10' on the rope length out there for the tube. :( Then again it ain't me getting splashed so no worries.:reddevil:

Thx.

im not sure of a tower manufacturer out there that recommends pulling a tube from their tower. pretty sure its an unwritten law or something
