Trailering Question ?

I just brought a new to me 2010 GTI SE 130 home on Saturday and would like to know how you guys are tying down the rear of the units on the trailer ? I see that my cover has a slit in it to get ties to the tow bracket on the ski when it is on but being the ski itself is so much wider than the trailer how are you guys getting the ratchet strap to the hole on the trailer without it rubbing and making marks on each side of the ski ?

Any pics would be appreciated ! The unit is showroom and I would like to keep it that way.

Typically you simply hook to the rear 'tow eye' with a couple of straps and go over the rear deck of the ski to attach points on the trailer. I bought some 6 or 8 inch long 7/16" diameter eye bolts to attached them to the frame of the trailer to give me some better options.

I have a two ski's. Trailer has a loop in the middle and two holes on the outer edges. I use the "Lifting loops" of the ski's, not the rear tow cleat.
I use the quick clips as the hooks on the ratchet strap don't easily fit through the loops on the ski. With the quick clips, it takes seconds to seconds to instal or remove the ratchet straps.

If you're concerned about rubbing against the hull, it's my experience it's not really an issue. But, when we haul new boats some distance to a boat show, we typically use strips of carpet between the strap and hull to avoid any chance of rubbing on the parts of the hull or rub rail, etc.

Thanks for the replies guys, thats the issue my ski does not have the two loop hooks in the rear like the picture above only the tow hook behind the seat, so there is no other choice than to come down the side of the ski with the ratchet strap when hooking to the trailer.

Pretty much limited to what you have. It will work fine. Some throw the strap over the seat. This is a mistake. Use the hook.

Seadoo makes a really nice cam buckle strap that has 2 slideable hooks that you could hook to the tow hook under your seat, then come off at a diagonal to your trailer with the 2 black hooks. Then all you need to do is just putt the tension out of the strap. When you need to remove it you just press on the cam buckle and the strap will loosen. I would NEVER throw a strap over a seat.
