How does one identify which water line needs to blocked off when towing the jet ski ?? I would like to mark that line on my skis. I have 2 1996/1997 GTXs and a 1996 SPI. Also a little explanation on the reasoning would be helpful. For instance, "how the water gets into the engine from that line." I am still a little mystified by the path of the cooling water on these skis. Attached is a picture from the 1996 SPI and is the only one I have that shows the rear. I am assuming a line from the jet pump gets blocked off. Thanks for any help.Jet Ski rear hose.jpg

None of the ones in your picture. OF the two going onto the cylinder head the one with the arrow pointing into the front of the engine is the one to clamp.

I don't know who well it would handle salt but the 3/4" pex ball valves at Lowe's have a i.d. a little larger than 1/2" and then you don't need any extra fittings to get the hose on, mine we're strechy enough to push right on. I also close the valves when running on the hose instead of needing to fumble with a hose pincher.

I am going to look today but I still don't know exactly which lines need to be pinched off. Is it one line or two ? I will post some pictures. I am getting the trailer and skis ready for the weekend which will be their first time out. If I need to tow one.... I don't want to create additional problems for myself.

There are two hoses coming from the pump area. THe one that tee's off to the waterbox vlave then goes to the lower side of the head is the one to block off before the waterbox valve tee.
