So Saturday i go out for a blast with my brother after mowing the lawn toncool off. Once i get to open water i see theese 2 yamahas racing so they came adound this island and i decidised to give them a go. So i catch them. Pass them and turn back to find my bro. After a short run my temp alarm went off and im in limp mode.
Soninmake it to the beach about 50 yards and walknthe ski to the ramp while waiting for the trailer. My mechanic said to bring it over and replaced the water pump and wear ring i needed. Had it ready today back in the water and ready for the fourth.
My question is if i had been farther out i would have needed a tow I know towing mynold 2 stroke could flood the motor is this anissue with anclosed loop 4 stroke also ?

Hey man. The procedure is in your Owners Manual. Many people will put a PVC valve inline to turn a valve off when towing. I suggest you somehow identify when this has been done. Many put their Key on the valve so they HAVE to get in there and turn the valve open before riding again. Otherwise, use something like Vicegrip pliers to pinch that line off. But you have the same issue. Remembering to remove it before you next ride. If you don't, it will jack your exhaust and engine up, especially if it's S/C.

What I did was use a couple of C-Clamps to put an inline valve in on the hose identified in the owners manual. It has a red lever to close that valve. You can tow it at high speeds, above 13mph, once you do that. I use a "Remove Before Flight" tag on my handle bars to remind me to open the valve before I run it once it has been repaired/whatever. Like a dead battery since I use mine to fish from.

Good luck.
