Tow rope question

I can't tell if it is cloth or nylon. Both will work, cloth type will hold up much better. The nylon can fray and get hot spots at the knots.

OK thanks. Will leave in boat in case of emergency.

CJ, tow rope is polyethylene, 60 ft length, 2375 lb break strength

I've towed with 550 paracord with no issue, although I certainly recommend higher.

if its in the water, there really isn't that much resistance. I can push a ski around myself while swimming with just a few pounds of pressure.

An example of what's in my storage bin right now... bunch of waterski rope, came with a ski/tube I bought a couple of years ago.

I also keep 50' of sailing line, 15' of dock line and somewhere in the safety bag is another 50' of paracord.

Length is underrated IMO, I prefer a 75 foot rope. Mine is the spiffy multicolored like Spim's, and I can add/subtract length or replace a section that way due to each piece has a simple loop at the end.

Don't recall anything sold as ski rope being too weak, just too short is very common. Maybe wake boarders like a short rope (who knows what else they like!)?

The adjustable loop rope for skiing/wake boarding is to get you in/out of the wake depending on what you want. Most break down by 5'and 10' increments mixed.
