Hey everyone, i'm having an issue with my 2000 GTI with the 717 motor. I was having issues with it falling on its face completely and then it just stopped running all together. So i originally thought it was a fuel problem and went through the carb to find no issues. Then i was turning the motor over with the carb off and noticed fuel/fumes spewing out the intake manifold....Then i took the hose connecting the expansion chamber to the waterbox and turned the engine over while my hand was over the end of the expansion chamber outlet and noticed my hand was being sucked up against it....It's almost like the motor is turning over in reverse, or I am also thinking the rotary valve went completely off time. Is it possible? Is there some kind of key way that may of sheared on the rotary valve shaft that would throw it completely out of wack?
