The steering is pretty tight on my 96 sportster, takes more force than normal to turn the wheel in and out of water. Is there a adjustment for this or is it a bigger problem. Any suggestions would be great, Thanks

bigger problem

but, undo the link assy at the gate and wheel, spray/lube with pb-blaster firtst, let sit few days, the nchase with liquid wrench. Worked awesome for my steering..

Not tryin to hijack but I kinda have the same problem but only @ higher speeds turns real easy goin slow but once it planes out shes really hard to turn..Is this "normal"..?

Not normal....

No, it's not normal......it seems that if your getting an easy turning radius when at idle and hard at WOT, then you might be binding something in or from your jet nozzle. The nozzle is on a swivel and when your at WOT, there is a lot of pressure on that swivel. You might have a bad bushing or something. Dont' look at the cable, look at the nozzle and where it's hinged......

Big head....!

Thanks timmyboy, I followed your advice and the sterring is good as new! Thanks again.

Oh my God......there you go, .........you just gave him the big head!....I'm surprised he didnt' tell you to spit on it and pull the slide bar in and out for an hour till it freed up!...................J/K.

Great work you two. These cables are suppose to be sealed and when they go bad, your only hope, normally is to replace them. I've found (as timmyboy obviously has in the last 10 boats {I think that's how many I've counted} he's purchased, fixed and resold) that if you hang the cable up, you can get some PB Blaster or some kind of penetrant to seep into it, and sometimes, free it up.........
