Thumb to Finger Throttle Flip

After riding last summer just a few times before I had to winterize it I soon came to the conclusion that the thumb throttle was very uncomfortable on my '95 GTX. I had decided to convert the thumb throttle to a twist throttle that I had in the shop.

Today I start on the swap, but soon came to the conclusion I would have the chop the throttle cable up, and then I wouldn't be able to go back to how it was if I didn't like it. Instead I flipped the throttle to the other side to make it into a pull throttle.

Only problem I'm now left with is the steering pad had a grove cut on it, and I have now flipped the piece to not fit in the groove. I am going to have to come up with an idea to cover or fill in the gap to keep water out. If anyone has good ideas I'm all ears!

Anyways I just wanted to share my little mod with everyone.

In the process I completed a rip that had already begun on my upper steering cover. The cover is getting gummy/sticky so I think it's time to replace.
