I think Jetskigoodies or Minnetonka4me or racerxxx had made a PVC tool to take that off
LOL this is funny. I just made one today but I cheated. Tonka has one that his Pop made, it was nice but it required me to run to HD to get supplies. I already had 3" inside diameter ABS pipe at home--note not PVC. I also already had an exhaust set up out of a hull, but I do believe this could be done in the hull. So I just lopped off a chuck of my pool drain extension pipe (to get the water to my neighbors yard, LOL), heated it up so the black pipe started to blister a bit all the while rotating and heating the inside and outside from the end to about 1" to 1-1/2" back, then I worked it onto the nut, let it cool. I walked over to the 95 slipped it on and with next to no effort it was off. This measures about 8" OAL, You can go as long as you like since the hull is empty. I used the same ABS pipe to make my VTS nut removal tool but in smaller 1-1/4" pipe. Enjoy!
Well I worked at it for over an hour tonight trying to get my PVC (Note Not ABS lol) over the nut. I had no luck. I even would preheat with the PVC in a vice and then try and draw it out using a hammer handle until the ID was enlarged. No dice.
I need to get some of that ABS and try again. Thanks for the tips!
ABS is "airy" compared to PVC. PVC is a mother to get hot enough--in that diameter and keep it molten enough to form. I heated the ABS for about 5-6 minutes.
Thanks to Tonka's Pop, here is option B.
I do like the molded route though, I think I will make one that way for the VTS nut and those nasty x4 gauges.
That is probably one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.... Great idea, and opens up a lot of possibilities for other things.... Definitely gonna be grabbin some abs to use on a couple nuts on my Ultra.... Never would have thought of that, thanks guys!
Yup we can thank my dad on the pipe-turned-tool idea...I was just coming up with nothing and was really busy so I tossed it to my dad and he came up with it in about an hour.
JSG built the first gauge tool if I remember correctly...I made one too. That one is tough b/c the ring is really thin, so the tool cannot push in on it.

Success! I ended up using a 3" rubber coupler for PVC. Worked like a champ, the rubber formed nicely around the nut with the aid of the included hose clamp...
Are all "through the hull exhaust nuts" and all "VTS nuts" the same same.
I Know these two are different sizes but I mean do they make different sizes of each?
Racer made the first gauge removal tool, racerxxx was asking me how to get them out and I suggested making a tool like the one that Minnetonka4me made for the exhaust nut. He made one and after seeing his I made one immediatly and took about 15 gauges out of hoods that were sitting in my basement. The tool makes a world of difference.
