Throttle sticking

Just changed my carbs and reinstalled. Started it up in the water last weekend and the throttle is sticking. The wiring for the cable must be stuck on something. I can't get it to rev down to an idle. Does anyone have pic's of the throttle cable assembly for a Seadoo 2000 gtx? Just wanted to make sure I have it wrapped around the cable disc correctly.

Disconnect the cable and see if it still revs high. If so, you are sucking air,,

And if it is still gets stuck while disconnected (and idle is OK I guess), probably some humidity and/or rust inside the cable. I had that once on an ATV. Had to replace the cable.

I agree remove the cable and see if it still sticks. I chased a sticking throttle on a 1997 XP this weekend for 2 hours. Come to find out the lever was sticking on aftermarket grips. Stupid grips!

My vote is carb gasket got moved while putting back together.

I did disconnect my throttle and it was still idling high.
I think you guys are on to something about the leak (sucking in air). When I changed my carbs the PTO gasket was a little loose. I will remove and reinstall cabs.

Guys,

I removed my carbs and took a look at the gaskets. I applied some gasket sealant and re-installed. I did notice that a steel ring from the tune pipe dropped to the bottom of the hull. So I re-installed it between the tune/exhaust pipes. I started it up and it still revs really high.

Any advise?

Sorry I just pulled the carbs off. Here is the story. In the spring I changed my carbs and set the throttle cable on 1 of the (2 holes) on the throttle disc below the MAG carb. Got out on the lake everything started and ran fine. But I could not get the seadoo over 40mph. Normally my max is between 50-55. So I removed the carbs again and set set the throttle cable on the 2nd hole of the disc. I started it up on the lake and the machine would rev very high..

There's the problem. Go back to the original hole. Then adjust the cable. If its not hitting wot, you need to adjust it with the 2 nuts on the cable till it does. Of course, do this with the engine off.
