throttle linkage

94 seadoo sp, I hooked up the throttle linkage and it closed all the way when I press the throttle, however when I release the throttle it does not open all the way. Do I need to adjust the linkage, or is there another problem?

Sounds like you have the cable backwards around the wheel the cable attaches to.

Pushing the throttle should never close it, it should open it and releasing the throttle shouldn't open it. You have something backwards.

So what is the problem? If the throttle won’t open all the way adjust the cable where it attaches to the carb bracket. But make sure it still closes all the way. You should have 2mm play in the lever before the carb opens.

Then you need to make sure the oil pump adjustment didn’t change.

Is the throttle lever aftermarket or stock?

You need to have a little play so that the throttle butterfly can close.

I would unhook the throttle cable and open and close the carb by the throttle plate and see if it springs back closed. If it doesn't the spring could be bad or a lot of sludge around the rod the butterfly attaches to.
