Have single 717 engine. The boat seems to be in full power before the throttle is all the way up. Seems responsive in different spots. The throttle will sit in a spot and a few seconds later it the boat begins to plane. I hear the become loose after awhile. Will I notice a difference with a new or tightened cable?

You really need to add your seadoo model and year to your avatar for this and future questions. Use mine as an example.
Check that the carbs are in sync with each other before you begin adjustment. Make sure the oil injector is adjusted in sync with the carbs or a seizure could happen with lack or oil at rpm. Next check that the cable allows the carb to go to the idle position. Next check that the cable allows the carbs to go to full throttle, when the throttle lever is in the full throttle position. adjust the cable at the carbs end first, and any extra adjustment needed at the control handles. Throttle cables are real expensive, so adjust it as best as possible...replace them if it is broken.

the best way to check for full throttle is to shift it all the way forward and go back there and see if you can open the linkage anymore , if so then its loose or worn and can be adjusted , if its too tight it will idle high , if its just right you will have wot at the shifter but have just a bit of slack in the cable when at idle . make sense ? also if your on plane and holding the throttle steady ... and it speeds up on its own just a bit then you may have some carb issues . do you still have grey fuel lines ?

If the oil pump cable isn't in sync and the injector pump pumps too little oil the engine could seize up...time for rebuild as it destroys itself.

A seizure is exactly that...it seizes up, locks up, moves no more...engine is trash do to over heated from no lubrication and the friction and heat caused by lack of lubrication and too much fuel. The reason for lubrication is to keep heat and friction at a minimum.
The injector injects oil at a specific rate as the rpm's increase and friction and heat are increasing as rpm's increase.

to be on the safe side i alway add just a bit of oil to the fuel as well , like a 75 or a 100 to 1 mix , it will not hurt a thing in the world but may wipe out plugs a bit sooner than normal . this way if your oil pump sfails you still have a bit of lubein goin on
