Hi guys, I need to replace the oil pan on my Mazda 2, It would seem that they don’t use a gasket, I’ve seen on a you tube video where Honda bond was used, I was going to use Threebond 1184. Do you guys see anything wrong with using it? Seen in the technical data that it sets up in 12 minutes and 24 hours is a full cure. How long do you think I should wait to put the oil back in? 5 hours be ok?

Should be fine as a lot of manufacturers have gotten away from gaskets.
Permatex Right Stuff is good too.

Well hello, I looked into it and yes there is no gasket on the Mazda 2 oil pans and when I took it off there wasn’t one there, went ahead and used the the 1184, so far so good. I think I could have used Permatex ultra grey or motoseal too, both are less expensive than the 1184 but I had it so I used it,👍
