Thinking of buying a '02 GTX (converted RFI to carb ) - Am I nuts?

Guys, I'm looking for a 3 seater, carbed, 2 cycle Seadoo and I know that would be either a GTI or a considerably older GTX.

So I've found this good-looking 2002 GTX Millenium Edition and it turns out it's been carb converted. Seller says the troublesome RFI system has been replaced be the 787 carbs and all electronics were replaced by a all-in-one "Reitron" solution - Common in this country, its a Mpem replacement that has bult-in coils and comes with the entire wiring harness, so it replaces the entire OEM electrics. I'll include a youtube link to it. Also, seller says he is the 3rd owner and the engine has never been rebuilt. For now i only have external pics and video from the machine. Internal pics detailing the RFI to Carb convertion details will be coming soon. Regarding asking price, it's actually a little lower than the typical price for a late year 2 stroke GTI, and also incudes a trailer (which i havent seen yet). Seller also says its available for a test ride at the lake.
Now, this RFI to Carb convertion is a first for me and if the ski looked rough i wouldnt even think about it but the thing looks good! Even if the deal doesnt go on i will try to share as much as I can with the community about this interesting convertion! Do you guys think this is a too bad of a deal?

Thanks for the model tips and feedback, guys. Still waiting for the promised detailed engine pics from the seller...

I know I'm favouring a 3 seater, even if it has the lesser 717 engine but I also found a 1996 XP that seems to have been looked after very well for a little less money that the FrankenGTX.

Seller claims: Ski has 100h, engine has never been rebuilt, no gelcoat repairs ever done to it, oil pump and vts all work, carbs rebuilt recently, carbon ring, bellow and wear ring recently replaced (claims the original wear ring came apart), trailer included. Price is that same i paid for my 01 GS a year ago (also w/trailer). Does it seem like a good deal to you guys?

It appears to be in immaculate shape but the head and pipe have been off by the looks of the chipped paint.
It will need to have the gray fuel lines replaced.
If it runs and has 150 psi compression I would grab it quickly. So much more fun than any 3-seater.

Just for context:

Local currency values for

A brand-new Seadoo Spark Trixx: 72.990;

A brand-new Seadoo GTI 130: 96.990;

My current 01 GS + trailer i bought last year: 24.000

The Franken-formerly-RFI GTX Milenium Edition: 26.000

The Immaculate 1996 XP + Trailer: 24.500

The choice is clear, always the 1996 XP.
Every Seadoo owner needs one at least once.

I have 2 of the 2000 millinium edition gtx rfi . ., gold and green one. rebuilt both engines and they are both amazing. love them. I would want the rfi.

Since parts are so hard to get please reach out to Greg @Greg from PWC Muscle as he should be able to help with international shipping of a larger WSM and other parts orders to keep you stocked and running.
Thanks, Miki! That's great tip. I've seen plenty of rebuild kits for the 2 strokes online here but I doubt the quality. It's probably a good ideia to begin putting together my own rebuild kit with reputable brand parts.
Now, about the pistons: Is it better the leave them out of that kit, since i would only know what oversize I need after assessing the condition of the bores?

Thanks for the reply! I bet they have no problem starting up at all.
My main concern with those 2 cycle, fuel injected is their lack of adjustability to make up for the mandated E25/E30 gasoline we have here. Since they have no oxygen sensor I bet they run LEAN! With the carbs i can readly use the adjusters, or swap the jets/needle seats.

With your remote location from parts stay away from the fuel injected ones.

You will need to measure the cylinders before you order the pistons. All the WSM parts are good quality except the carb kits. Only carb kits and parts you can use are genuine Mikuni.
