Testing DESS key. 1 test says good, the other shows bad.. Now what?

Trying to chase down intermittent/no start problem on my 1996 GSX. One of the tests that came up inconclusive was the DESS key. One test which uses the buzzer on my ohm meter came up good when I checked continuity from the black/yellow to black prong while key was attached to DESS post . When I tested the key probing red probe on multimeter to side of key and black probe on center contact, the key showed it was good using the CONTINUITY BUZZER on multimeter,HOWEVER when switching to 200 setting on OHM's reading became erratic, showing anywhere from 50 to 500 ish then back to zero.(I read the reading should be under 10 OHM's). I also read an old thread from 2018 where he experience the same thing, but with no follow through. ALSO, I DID 8 other tests which all but 2 came up a good reading. The 2 that FAILED were: using a test light from battery to solonoid output while pressing start button (no light), also tested signal wire using test light (FAILED) I connected the test light clip to ground on engine (alan bolt) & touched tip of test light to signal wire. I pressed the start button but the test light DID NOT illuminate indicating a faulty signal wire or something up the chain leading to signal wire. Any comments/ suggestions will be appreciated.
