So after runnin yesterday for about twon hours on the hudson river:cool:in nyc(ran GREAT) got the ski back to the garage and hooked bup the ski to the hose to flush engine and the tachometer started to act up....was workin great the whole time i have had it and now starting to act up(it works then doesnt work) ....any suggestions??? Im gonna go through the connections when i get a chance. Just to mention the tach guage is in great shape(no water inside)and just installed a new rectifier

Can a new recctifier cause this issue because in the wiring the gray tach wire is attached to the two yellows that come out of engine stator???

It' could... if the connection was loose.

Normally I'd say the tack is starting to die... but since you just did some work... It is probably a loose wire.

thanks doc for your response...I MADE sure the connections were solid when i put the rectifier in...jus checked connections and they look good and clean...what happens is it works if you give it throttle but when the rpms fall to idle the tach goes all the way to zero...any other ideas???
