i have a 2002 GTX's and i put about a 1/2 a quart of Mercury PWC oil in, because i thought i was running low. I didn't realize the oil tank ran the length of the gas tank. I have not started the engine and have filled up with the bombardier sythetic. do i still need to drain my oil tank for 1/2 quart?

I would.
It's not worth loosing an engine over bad oil. More important than "it's the wrong oil"... 2-stroke oils don't always mix... and you my find that you have "Jell-O" floating around your oil system. (that will plug the filter, and kill the engine)
