What size is standard? Where is the swirl located? How much does one cost? Sorry if these questions sound silly. Just got a little boat so my young kids can tube!
Skat-Trak recommends a 15/20 swirl. The 14.5/22.5 is for the speedster with 2 engines. The only reason I use the 16/21 is because I got a good deal on it. (new $50)
The impeller I'm using gives me a little more top speed... the 15/20 will give you better power out of the hole.
THe 14.5/22.5 may put too much of a load on the single engine. (it's a high pressure impeller) It will fit... but it's may not be the best to use.
1) The stock impeller is an 11/24. But you can’t compare prop pitches from one manufacture to the next since blade pitch isn’t always measured the same.
2) The “Swirl” is the leading edge of the impeller. Normally the leading edge is straight. Skat-Trak uses a rounded (tip to root) leading edge. They also made the blades longer. This gives them more surface area, and more overlap to build more pressure without cavitation. Lastly, the round leading edge helps clear weeds better than other props.
3) The good “Street price” is around $139 for a new Skat-Trak impeller.
