New forum member, so please be gentle! ;)

I just bought a 2008 GTX limited with 5 hours on it. Know absolutely nothing about SeaDoos. I do know that the supercharger must be rebuilt every 100hours and that there was a problem with the ceramic clutch washers on 2004-2007 and some 2008 supercharged 4-Tec engines. So, my dilemma is, do I rebuild a 5 hour supercharger? My heart says yes but my head say no way!

Advice, s'il vous plait?

If you have no history of a previous rebuild I would get it done, cheap insurance considering the damage that can be caused if it does let go. That S/C could be 6 years old and not being used can be worse than high hours.

Nope, the SC has definitely not been rebuilt since new. Just wondered what can wear/deteriorate in just 5 hours (I would imagine only rubber parts would deteriorate with age).

It's not just clutch washers needing attention. It's the bearings...specifically the bearing cages...2....3yrs tops they start getting brittle. They fail...the ball bearings group on one side of the shaft..the wheel touches down...all sorts of bad crap happens after that.
