I have a 2003 GTX SC. My max rpm is now only 6600rpm, 50mph. I think this thing used to do 60mph and tach out around 800rpm or so? After reading several threads here I suspect the SC probably slipping due to the washer issue.

Where do I get the SC rebuild kit (PN)?
Is doing a total SC rebuild required or just change washers?
How long does it take you average mechanic to do a rebuild?

How many hours are on the SC since new or last SC rebuild? They're supposed to be completely rebuilt every 100 hours of operation. There are tiny bearings and thingies in there that need to be replaced, they don't last forever.

Take a minute and pull the air hose off the center of the SC and reach inside with your fingers and see if you can turn the air impeller wheel in there by fingertip... it should be near impossible to turn by fingertip.

It has 95 hours. Do you have to rebuild the SC every 100hours? This seems like a design flaw?

I'll pull the hose off tonight and see if I can spin it.

Yes, every 100 hours of operation it should be completely rebuilt and looks like it's time for yours. And No, it's not a design flaw it's a wear item same as the brakes and rotors/drums on your automobile. Speed costs, how fast can you afford to go? LOL! ;-)

Complete rebuild costs run around $500 (more if a dealer does it). Best to pull it out of the engine yourself and send it to somebody (GreenHulk?) to be rebuilt. This thing has to be done right, or else it could fly apart inside your engine at high rpm's and make a huge mess $$$$$!

Send it to Jerry Gaddis. Class act, top notch work, reputation and the fastest turnaround you can ask for.

the great group of site pros (on this site) won't allow a direct link...

4-tec performance(.)com look for the sc rebuild highlighted on the left of the page.

I popped the SC input hose off and the impeller turns easily by hand. So looks like it is rebuild time.

Looking for instructions on how to pull out the SC. I'm currently looking thru the riva site to see if I can find instructions.

It looks like the rebuild kit is $320. I see some posts say they do the rebuild for $75. Sounds like a good option.

The greenhulk site is really informative. Thanks for the info.
