So I am in the process of installing a hydroturf spray guard and I am at the re assembly process.

I am trying to get the rub rail insert into the rail attached to the hull bond seam and I can't seem to get it to go more than about 18" on before it becomes stuck.

I have tried using some spray silicone spray to help it slide home but it has done little more than make it slippery to push on. Any tips?

I didn't slide mine, I held it up against where it goes in and hit it with a hammer, and it pops in just keep moving down a few inches at a time

I don't know about you, but I didn't enjoy installing that thing haha

I was also concerned about it ripping off with the few rivets holding it in so I drilled two extra rivet holes per side

Yup, just set it in and tap it with a mallet, no need to slide it in, it's flexible plastic, it ain't breaking :) I think I peeled mine out and put new color insert in the whole ski in about 3 minutes time

Thanks to all. I figured "installation is reverse of removal" meant push it back in place. I have a dead blow to do the job.

With the front bumper off you can slide them out real easy. I just start them with the corner of a block of wood, then grab with a towel and pull. But, the front bumper is off.

Just get a screw drvr and pry it out. You have to cut off lower return flange on rail and nose piece. Nose piece fits like ass when done and wants to yank rivets out. I finally end up doing big stainless screws. I think i have done 10 of these. A must on an X4. Cause nobody likes getting wet riding a Seadoo. Lol
