So after running great the entire summer, my 2004 RXP 4tec is doing something unusual.
I put the Lanyard on and the display lights up for about 1.5 seconds before going completely dark. No beeps. If I take the lanyard off and put it right back on, nothing happens. If I wait 30 seconds and try again, then it will do the same 1.5 seconds of display and go dark again. No Beeps
I thought maybe I had a bad lanyard or DESS post, but then the Start/Stop button doesn't have any functionality either. Usually without the lanyard you can get it to turn the display on with just the start/stop button.
I tested the battery and it's in perfect shape. Even switched the battery with my other ski, and got identical results. Cleaned the cable connections too.
If I leave the lanyard on (not attempting to start the ski, just leave the key on the post), I can hear a relay clicking on and off about every 15 seconds in the engine compartment, so I know the machine is getting power, but something is not letting it boot up.
If I disconnect the battery, put the lanyard on the post, then reconnect the battery, I'll get three beeps followed by a 1.5 second display and then everything goes dead again.
Any ideas ?
I've searched the forums and been unable to find anyone with an identical problem.
