Steering Issue

I am new to this forum but recently purchased my first supercharged waverunner. I had it out this past weekend and loved it except there was a steering issue. It turns to the left just fine and rides straight but turns to the left very slowly and only at lower speed. The handlebars turn fine both directions. When I got it back to the trailer I looked everything over but it looks fine. I can turn it right and the nozzle turns to the right? I just don't have enough experience with these things to know why it seems to turn fine out of the water but not when I start riding? I love the supercharger and having 215 horsepower but I need it to turn, any info would be greatly appreciated!

A common issue with the boats is,, a cable that has broke from from the mounting. When under a load, the cable assembly flexes and the boat loses the ability to steer properly. Though this is not common on the skis, it is worth looking at. Also, if a housing separates at the end, the cable moves as it should but again, since the housing does not restrict it, the nozzle does not after well..

Ok I will have to check the steering cable and see if that might be the source or my problems. I guess it would make sense since I can turn the handlebars just fine but when I get in the water I cant turn to the right. Thanks for the info I appreciate the quick response!

I agree, most likely the cable outer sheath is not properly anchored on one end or the other, sounds like this.

Poor steering response is very dangerous to you and others, need to have this solved before riding again.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I finally had time to work on it over memorial day and it turned out the issue was a broken lock nut where the steering cable goes thru the hull that was not holding the steering cable in place properly. I got all of that fixed and replaced the wear ring while I was at it. Took it out yesterday and everything works great. Thanks for the assistance!
