My 2004 GTX 4-tec Wake edition does not seem to respond very well when you turn it. I would think these things would be very responsive and stable as it's not the XP or RXP sportier version.

I also noticed that when out of water and not running, and i move the handlebar left to right, its very loud and clanky back there by the jet system.

I did the same thing with my RXP and its very quiet and smooth.

Any suggestions?

Sounds to me that something mechanical is wrong. You are going to need to look at the ends where the steering cable connects, the retiaing hardware that holds the housing in place (crucial to quality steering). If it were mine, I would disconnect both ends and see what moves smooth and what does not, including the cable itself..

Thanks Joe! Is there a step by step instruction on how to do this? I'm very new to working on these seadoos.

I'm not sure what the retiaing hardware is.

I could look at it and know what to do, but I do not know the steps in such a way that I can right them down for you. Others will be able to help with that. And,,, if you are a premium member you can download the tech manual for free..

Get a can of XPS lubricant; remove the access panel under the handlebar; move the handlebar full left to draw the cable out of the sheath. Spray the exposed portion of the throttle cable. Turn the handlebar full right to force the lubricant between the cable and the sheath. Repeat a few times. Don't forget to do this prior to winter storage. I forgot this step and my steering didn't want to move at all when I pulled them out of storage.
