Steering adjustment gti 130--make cable longer?

I have a 07 GTI SE. I had to replace the pump support bracket and when I put the cables through the pump bracket and connect it to the jet pump, my steering now is off. In order to go straight, I have to turn about 20 degrees.

I know there is an adjustment screw at the end of the cable, but I need about 1/2 more cable to center the steering. Is there something else that I can adjust the make the cable longer? The adjustment was perfect before I removed the pump support.

Thanks,
Tony

If its a small adjustment,,,you can do it there,,,but truthfully,,,centreing the nozzle should be done with the large adjusting nut under the steering column,,,underneath,,,down under,,,not easy,,,but the proper way,,,you want that connector at the nozzle threaded in as far as possible so it does not break.

The nut by the jet pump is not long enough.. I know I was twisting the cable at one point to figure out how to remove the cable. DO you think if i twist the cable it will give me more cable?

You probably assembled it incorrectly where the steering cable goes through the pump support. There is a 2 part half cup plastic part the fits into a groove and you may have this in backwards.

Theoretically yes,,,but that will turn the bars,,,you need to thread the steering the hex fitting in as far as far as possible,,,and straighten out the steering bar from the large adjusting nut from under the steering mount down under mate.

The only thing twisting the cable will do is break the cable. You need to assemble it properly since everything was perfect before you replaced the pump shoe.

I did have it wrong. Thanks.
The seal for the impeller. This looks like it snaps on, but when ridding this seal comes loose. There looks like there is threads on the other side but there is nothing for it to screw into?
