After a "duh" last weekend and making sure the battery was charged fully I started up the Speedster last night. Replaced the beeper and it gives the correct beeps for engine start. But every other time putting the lanyard on it would give four short beeps(meaning shifter is not in neutral, which it was). Other times it would beep twice and then just click, like the starter isn't engaging. Other time it would fire right up. Obiviously its a corroded conncection somewhere.....can anyone point me in the right direction? Starter soilenoid, MPEM?

On another note, one of the wing nuts hold my shaft cover was missing. So I looked down in the bottom of the engine compartment and wa-la...there it was....unfortunately it was sitting in a half rotted carcus of a mouse that had gotten in and couldn't get out. Amazing that bone can congeal like that during the rotting process. Suprised the previous owner didn't notice the stench! At least I found the wing nut!

Try cleaning the DESS Post and cap. Use a good cleaner or a pencil eraser. Don't apply any lube or grease as it will just cause problems making a connection. Leave it dry.
