Starter not engaging 95XP

Hi guys, how’s it going? Went to crank over my 95XP for the first time this year and the starter turned but did not engage. I had just put this starter on last August off of a used 95XP that I have. The one that I put on off the parts machine is the one with the black casing. I had just picked up another Denso starter a couple months back. The seller had said it was for 92 to 94 Seadoo, but when I compared it to the original old rusted starter that I took off last August it seemed to be identical, at least the casing, bolt holes, everything I could see looked the same. I put some power to the white casing starter on the bench and it turned and the bendex worked so I see no reason I can’t put it on? A couple of questions. The black casing starter that I put on last August, it says made in Thailand. What would be the reason the bendex is not engaging? Can I just take it out and grease something? It worked last fall when I winterized, actually worked amazing, but doing this now. My second question is, the black cased starter that I’m going to take off Denso, made in Thailand, can I rebuild it? Is Denso OEM? The battery I had in it was purchased new last fall for my snowmobile, It had 12.6 volts, I put it on the charger anyways, going to try it again before changing the starter. My used starter worked. Is that black starter rebuildable? Or would there be a way to line that bendex up? If so, how would I go about it?
