Need Help,
My sea doo SPX 650 wanted to start, but wouldn’t. Sure it was a dirty carb issue. Went to pull carbs out and pulled them out by unbolting the manifold exposing the timing gear. Timiming gear is damaged. It has a chunk out of it. Like something melt got sucked in. Thinking now I’m going to have to pull the cylinders head to make sure nothings there. What’s your thoughts?

Do you have a screw somewhere in/on the carb area missing? Obviously you'll need a new RV, might as well acquire that now. Yep, check the cylinders out, maybe it's in there, bad news if it is. If it's not there, move on to the bottom end, which you'll need to pull the motor to check. I definitely wouldn't slap a new RV on and try to start it without going through the engine.

I'm guessing a bolt fell into the engine when running. (from the airbox) I'm also going to guess than the actual gears in the engine are now stripped. It may be time for a full rebuild.
