sportster le DI 947 - 2005 - it goes to the point where you hear the fuel pump(??) then, nothing.

I need some help. I can't get the engine to start- I hear two beeps from the key. When I press the start button I hear a whirring sound (I think it is the fuel pump) then nothing. I replaced the battery, the solenoid relay. I tested the new solenoid and battery and they both show 12.43. It's in neutral. I'm not a mechanic, but everything I read said the solenoid may be the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you getting any clicks when you hit the start button? You can jump across the solenoid with an old pair of pliers. You may have a bad starter but first things first.

I'd also check your start/stop switch. Is your battery HOT !!

"Hot" as in fully charged and a good battery. Check your ground wires.

Yes, it is a brand new fully charged battery. Tested with volt meter. Solenoid show the same power when the power is turned on

So if you jump across the solenoid the stater should turn the engine over. You might want to pull the spark plugs when testing.
