do boats have an alternator ? if not ho does the battery stay charged cuz this weekend i was out with my wife n friends shut off engine played the radio and when i went to start the low 12v came on i drove for a while and havent had the problem again but i also havent played radio cuz i dont want to b stuck on lake with no charge

no alternator, it has a magneto system that will charge the battery but not nearly to the effect that an alternator will.

thank you. so how long would u say it takes to charge the battery vs playing my ipod no amp or extra speakers if that makes sense

With the magneto system for charging here's the best way to look at it, the magneto pretty much maintains your charge. If you have a battery that is low the magneto will charge it but it won't get a full charge. When I'm not using the boat/ski it sits on a trickle charge to maintain the battery and to keep me from seeing the 12v low light.

It sounds like your battery is getting old. I assume you have the full size battery and not the smaller jet ski size battery? I suggest getting a new deep cycle marine battery which will do very well with what you are looking for. Or, get a jumper pack and bring that with you in case you drain the battery too much and that will get you going.

i think ill invest in a trickle charger but dont they give off a lot on hydrogen gas and how long do u leave it on the charger do u leave battery in boat i worry about gas fumes too i dont want to level my or neighbors house BOOM!

No I invested in a sealed gel filled battery.

Maintenance free and is more durable. Can take a lot more abuse than an acid filled battery. Also wont leak if it gets tipped over. In a PWC that's a good thing.

Doesn't matter. Also there's a 4 tec boat forum where you may get an answer you are looking for since you don't seem to want to take our advice over here in the PWC forum.

oh my bad thought i was in 4 tech section captain snarky oh and i am taking your advice i also said thank you to every reply u left

ouch lol thats funny at least i can take more than one person out and fish tube wake board drink and relax on my "boat"

oh no ,,,,I take all my family out on mine I pull a tube with my big ars wife and put my four kids on ski wit me,and put the pets in the front compartment and push the flatbottom wit my cousins in front of us...
