speedometer not working

Hi everyone. Just picked up a 2006 GTI and the speedometer doesn't work. There is no LED lit. Is this a known problem? The tach does work.

To clarify, is the dash not working at all, or just a few of the items within the dash.

The tach on the left side is working, the right side has no LEDs on.

Ha ha, turns out that the speedometer on this model is an option that I don't have. Ordered the sensor on ebay for fourty bucks.

Well, you do know that you cannot just buy a sensor and make this work, right?

Actually I did think I could just add the sensor. Is there something else I need?

You need to enable the speedo function in the ECU. The Candoopro system can do this.

You may or may not also need a different gauge cluster, or at least a reflash of the one you have.
