Speedo problems

My Speedo on my 98 GTX limited does not work. There are two speedo's ,the digital display and the old analog needle. They both sit at zero.

What is the most common problem, and where should i look first? I spun the little wheel at the rear of the ski, and it spins freely.

if they are both saying zero... I would look for a bad connection, and check the wheel on the back for function.

Can i replace just the wheel? or do i have to replace the entire speedo wire assembly?

How do i test this wheel anyways?
