Spark slowing down at 50km/h engine light on and off

Was driving my 2016 spark and it kept beeping twice when I was driving but it was running fine for about an hour , eventually it would go to 50km/h then slow right down and the screen would read check engine . And now the lights out again anyone had a similar issue

Does your Spark have IBR? If so, does the IBR icon flash as well and does it go into limp mode? Meaning no reverse or brakes. Somethings to check is to make sure your battery cables are tightened, and have someone look at the harness for possible faults. This happened to my 2017 Spark w/ IBR. Check engine light went on with the IBR icon, lost most of my power (max speed was 25mph) and it went into limp mode (no reverse or brakes). Ended up being a faulty terminal in the harness, the dealership fixed it within a few hours.
