I found this thing inside the line that sends fuel to the accelerator pump (carb to accel pump). Does that need to be there? Any help will be appreciated.

Here are the pics:

I read about that in a post earlier on. It is an OEM item and does belong in there. Most never see it and don't put it back when they install new fuel lines.

I'm trying to think but it believe it is there to provide a more stable fuel flow and not pulse the fuel due to the fuel pump.

Just did a search. It does remove the pulsing of the fuel and help with pump pressure. It should be there as if the pump pressure drops you will lose performance as well as likely run lean. Which our engines do not like, c

Thanks Coastiejoe. I will reinstall it then, I will have to find the correct line size so it does not move inside of it...

If you put it up against one of the barbs it won't move as the barb inside diameter is smaller than the O/D of the restrictive.

That said, you do want a snug fit or the fuel could bypass it and defeat the purpose of the restrictive.

Make sure it is nice and clean as well.
