Solas intake grate install?

Just got a solas intake grate for a 2000 gti. Looked up right model for my ski sd-ig-b. Problem is the old one slide into grove at one end and bolts on other end, new one bolts on both ends and is slightly longer. Anyone every install one or know how. Kinda lost thought it be a direct bolt on.

Any performance intake grate that I have ever used, while it doesn't necessarily look like the stock one, has always attached like the oem. I would contact solas, or wherever you bought it and make sure it's the correct grate for you ski.

Per there fit chart its the right one, i verified they sent me the right one. Ill shoot them an email to see whats what

Let me know how this goes, I'm interested in getting a new grate myself. Just not sur how easy/difficult it is to do yourself.

Doesnt even look close, but thats there grate per there chart, go figure. Im gonna call tomorrow.

Yeah that is way off. My buddy has the same ski, and finally replied to my text. His is another brand but he can't think of the name off-hand. Maybe their chart is off a year and it should be the XP vice SD. Good luck with customer service, hopefully they can get it straight sooner than later.

I can't tell for sure but the grate they sent you looks like the grate on my 96GTI. Entirely different hull design.

There chart says 96-2000 for that grate. Sounds like its typo from solas. Hopefully an exchange wont be a pita. Thanks for all the info.
